First launched in November 2010, this social game allows players to build the city of their dreams from the ground up. In CityVille, the success and growth of the city is in the hands of the player, who must manage and balance the needs of the city's residents, harvest crops and run businesses. The social aspect of"CityVille is derived from visiting neighboring cities, which belong to friends on Facebook. Cooperative play between friends (cities) results in accelerated crop growth, quicker building construction and expediting shipping times.
Empires & Allies
In less than a month since the official launch, Zynga's Empires & Allies social game has rocketed to the No.2 spot on the most popular Facebook applications list, according to AppData.com. Empires & Allies is the first strategy combat game from Zynga and was introduced on June 1, 2011. This story-driven combat crusade game takes place on a large multi-island "game board." Farmville
FarmVille was released by Zynga in 2009 and has remained at or near the top of the most popular Facebook applications list ever since. Players of FarmVille start the game with an empty farm and a small amount of "farm coins" to purchase their first seeds with. Players select crops, plant seeds and then harvest them when they ripen. Harvested crops are sold, hopefully, at a profit -- which is then reinvested into the farm as players buy more crops, animals, buildings, decorative items and supplies.
Texas HoldEm Poker
Zynga's Texas HoldEm Poker brings the action of classic poker game play to Facebook. Poker enthusiasts can challenge old friends to a game of poker, or meet new friends from around the world to test their poker skills. Players must buy Zynga chips to play the game, which are only available directly from Zynga. Skilled, or lucky, poker players might win enough Zynga chips during game play to minimize the need to purchase more chips frequently. However, Zynga chips have no monetary value outside of the game.
Badoo
Badoo is not exclusive to Facebook, but is one of the top 5 most popular Facebook applications. Badoo is used by more than 120 million people, more than 30 million of which use the Badoo Facebook application. Badoo is a social networking tool that provides users with a way to meet new people with similar interests for possible friendship or dating. Once connected, users can then chat, socialize, flirt and play games.
